The first 24–48 hours
Expect to walk immediately after the procedure — movement is encouraged to keep blood flowing. You'll usually wear compression stockings continuously at first. Mild bruising, tightness, or a pulling sensation along the treated vein is normal.
The first two weeks
Most people return to desk work within a day and light activity within a couple of days. Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, and long hot baths for the period your clinician specifies. Keep moving with short walks throughout the day.
What's normal vs. not
Bruising, tenderness, and a firm cord-like feeling along the vein are expected and fade over weeks. Contact your clinician for increasing redness and warmth, significant swelling in one leg, fever, or severe pain — these are uncommon but worth checking.
